When was the Vienna Experts Club International (VECI) formed?

The Club was formed in Austria on January 29, 2006 to coincide with the "Austrian Travel Business" (atb) travel fair in Vienna.

How many members does the club have?

As per December, 17th of may 2021 the club had 18. 041 members from 79 countries.

Are there similar Clubs in other European cities?

Not as far as we know. The Vienna Tourist Board made history when it formed Vienna Experts Club International.

What is the purpose of the Vienna Experts Club International?

The Vienna Experts Club was set up to provide members with exclusive information about new and existing attractions in the city, so that members can pass this information on to their customers.

Who can join the Vienna Experts Club International?

Sales and marketing employees of international travel agents and tour operators, airlines, transport companies and online travel portals offering trips to Vienna.

I am working in the Viennese travel business – can I become a member?

Employees of hotels in Vienna, whether working in reception, sales, reservations or marketing, as well as employees of Viennese tour operators and conference organisers have their own club, the Vienna Experts Club.

I am working in an Austrian Travel Company (except Vienna) – can I become a member?

For organisational reasons, we are unable to offer membership to those working in Austria’s tourism industry but based outside Vienna. Please sign up for our industry newsletter in german language and visit our B2B website b2b.wien.info.

How do I join the Vienna Experts Club International?

Register at experts.vienna.info and submit your details. Your registration will be checked and activated by the Club office. Please understand that this process can take a little time. Once your membership is activated, you will receive an email welcoming you to the Club.

Is there a Club card?

Yes, members of the Vienna Expert International Club receive a personal Club card at our Tourist Info outlets to use when claiming discounts during visits to Vienna. The card is valid during your stay in Vienna, and for a maximum of 7 days from date of validation. You do not need a Club card to prove membership itself.

What does membership cost?

Membership is for free.

What are the advantages of a Club membership?

You get to find out more about Vienna and give customers insider tips for their visit. As a Vienna Expert, during your stay in Vienna you will enjoy a range of exclusive benefits, special rates in Vienna’s hotels, and the Vienna City Card. The Vienna Experts Club International also organises regular competitions for its members, invites members to evening events in Vienna, and keeps you up to date with the regular Club newsletter.

What are my commitments as a member?

As a Vienna Expert International member we expect you to be involved in promoting Vienna as a tourist destination.

How do I find out about Club offers?

As a registered member you have access to the exclusive member pages at experts.vienna.info where you can select from the latest offers. You also receive our regular Club newsletter.

How often can I take advantage of Vienna Experts Club International offers?

Please note that Club concessions including free Vienna City Cards may only be claimed once per calendar year. There must be a period of at least 14 days between each visit. The special offers will only be made available to preregistered members.

Are Vienna Experts Club International offers also extended to the person I am travelling with?

Yes! Most of offers are open to you and one accompanying person.

Can I keep my membership if I change jobs?

Yes, provided that the change is within the tourism industry. Individuals and not companies are members. Please inform the Club office of any changes to your job description or address. Your membership will be cancelled automatically if you leave the tourism industry. In this case you will no longer have access to Club offers.
